I’ve decided to start a blog in order to organize my internet presence all in one place. As an aspiring senior journalism major at Point Park University, I have begun to develop a portfolio of published pieces I will be posting here.
I am Editor-in-Chief of PPU’s student newspaper, The Globe. I’ve also held the titles of features editor, staff writer and copy editor. I generally write either news or features articles.
Throughout the summer of 2018, I worked at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newspaper as a web desk intern.
I completed an internship at Pittsburgh City Paper in summer 2017, where I held the position of multimedia intern.
In the near future, I hope to be writing for a reputable magazine or newspaper and develop my career as a journalist. I feel so inspired to learn about the individuals around me and strongly believe in the importance of trustworthy, eloquent journalism.
Now, to dive into some characteristics about my life. I recently moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Johnstown, Pennsylvania in June 2016. I attend school and work part-time at a local coffee-shop called Staghorn Garden Cafe. I’ve worked various positions in the restaurant and retail industry.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and travelling with my boyfriend, Zachary. I also savor drinking coffee and tea, reading novels and newspapers, practicing yoga, writing and building up my Spotify playlist with new music.
The topics I write about will include some straightforward observations and some opinions. I hope that this blog will showcase both my passion for writing and the admiration I hold for a field I am ready to plunge into.
