I’ve decided to start a blog in order to organize my internet presence all in one place.  As an aspiring journalist major in my senior year at Point Park University, I have begun to develop a portfolio of published pieces I will be posting here.

I am editor-elect for PPU’s student newspaper, The Globe. I’ve also held the titles of features editor, staff writer and copy editor. I generally write either news or features articles.

I recently completed an internship at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as a web intern. I also worked at the Pittsburgh City Paper in summer 2017, where I held the position of multimedia intern.

In the near future, I hope to use my writing and research skills to pursue a degree in law.

Now, to dive into some characteristics about my life.  I recently moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Johnstown, Pennsylvania in June 2016. I attend school and am a barista at my neighborhood coffee shop, Staghorn Garden Cafe.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and travelling with my boyfriend, Zachary.  I also savor drinking coffee and tea, reading novels and newspapers, practicing yoga, writing and building up my Spotify playlist with new music.

The topics I write about will include some straightforward observations and some opinions. I hope that this blog will showcase both my passion for writing and the admiration I hold for a field I am ready to plunge into.
